Christmas in Waco!

Justin, Carson, and I celebrated Christmas is Waco with my family. Carson's first Christmas was a little bit crazy with one unexpected event. Let me first off say that I am doing very well now and things could have been alot worse. The Lord was looking over me. I had to make a trip the emergency room on Christmas Eve. To make a long story short the emergency room doctor discovered that part of my plucenta was still in my uterus. And so I had to have a D&C to remove it. Justin and I spent Christmas Eve night at the hospital. Luckily Carson will not remember this Christmas and that his mom and dad were not there to help Santa. Other than that we really did have a GREAT Christmas with my family. All of my aunts, uncles, and cousins came in town and it was wonderful to see everyone!! We had good food & drinks, opened presents, played games, and went bowling.

We also were able to visit with Amy and Keven and see their two boys Noah and Charlie.

Christmas in Midland!

Before heading to Waco we celebrated Christmas with Justin's family. Things are getting a little crazier now that there are three grand babies.

Santa Claus

This weekend we went to the Country Club to visit Santa Claus. Carson sat in Santa's lap for the first time. Carson would not tell us what he asked Santa to bring him for Christmas. Luckily he has been a good boy this year so I am sure he will get what he asked for.

What a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

There are so many things to be thankful for, and one of those things is family. I do not know what I would do without such a great family. It was so wonderful to have extra hands around the house to help with Carson and the cooking. My mother makes a great night nurse!! My dad had his first baby sitting job while Justin was at the Tech game and the girls went shopping. It was a great week!

Carson loves his swing.

Caron is Three Weeks Old!!

Carson is 3 weeks old today! I just cannot believe that it has been three weeks already. Carson has been a great baby. There have been a few tough times but for the most part he has a wonderful temperament. Justin and I are very thankful to have him in our lives. I wanted to just list some memorable events from these past three weeks.

•I love to see Justin with Carson. He is doing such a great job with him (and me).
•This whole experience has been way more emotional than I ever expected.
•I loved having Minnie, Bubba, and Aunt ‘E’ here when Carson first came home.
•Aunt ‘E’s boyfriend, Jared, came in town to meet Carson.
•I will always remember late night feedings with grandmother Minnie and I, when Carson first arrived.
•And late night feedings with just Carson and I. I have been sleeping in Carson's room so Justin can get some sleep. He sleeps anywhere from 3 to 5 hours at a time!
•Justin and I love Carson's silly faces he makes when he is milk drunk.
•Grandmother Fancy’s evening visits.
•Carson is already a huge Texas Tech fan.
•Carson and I went on our first walk around the block.
•His umbilical cord fell off and he had his first real bath.
•Carson took his first bottle. (Aunt Kelly taught me how pump.)
•The poor kid got baby acne.
•Great grandmother Betty came to visit.
•We tried to go to Andy’s baptism but just could not make it. We were all ready to go and then Carson got hungry. We made it for pictures once church was over.
•Lots of spit up!!!

Carson Douglas Ham's Grand Arrival!!

Last week was wonderful! Carson arrived on Monday November 3, 2008 at 2:11pm. Everything went so smoothly. Carson was 7 pounds 2 ounces and 18.45 inches long. He is doing great!! Justin and I want to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.

The Date is Set!

Carson is scheduled to arrive on Monday November 3rd!! Carson is doing great but both of my doctors agree that it is time for everyone to meet Carson. I will be 38.5 weeks, so Carson will only be 9 days early. Justin and I are so excited! We just cannot believe that it is finally time. I think that we are as ready as we can be. We have been waiting for this day for a very long time (not just 9.5 months).

Here is a flashback of the last 9.5 months.

Maybe Next Week!?!?!

We went to the doctor today for another sonogram and everything looks great! Carson is approximately 6 pounds 10 ounces (give or take a pound). My fluid level went up from 9.1 to an 11.3. So we will all just have to wait for the Carson's arrival. I am 37 weeks and it looks like it will be another week or two. All good things come to those who wait!!

Bed Rest

I have now been on bed rest for three weeks. It has not been too bad and I am feeling good. Thank goodness for lap tops and the Internet. Justin has been doing a great job running errands and going to the grocery store. He has even bought diapers and wipes. My fluid level around Carson is still in the normal range, just at the low end of normal. At this week's sonogram the doctors will measure Carson and estimate how much he weighs. If everything looks good, we will just stay on bed rest. But there is a possibility that Carson could be here this week. Crazy! Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. I will keep you updated.

Trying Something New - A Slide Show

Being on bed rest gives me plenty of time to discover the many things that the internet can offer. I thought this was pretty cool.

Carson's Baby Room

Carson's room is finished! It has been so much fun putting it together. I could not have done it without my mom. She made ALL of the bedding (baby bedding, comforter, pillows, & curtains). She did an amazing job! I really think Carson will love it.
